Homestead and Kurant to deliver small business e-commerce solution
[May 22nd 2001]
Kurant Corporation and Homestead Technologies Inc. are to create a strategic partnership to deliver electronic commerce to small business. Under the agreement, Homestead will integrate Kurant's e-commerce solution StoreSense into its recently launched Homestead Professional service. The joint offering is expected to be available in Q3 2001.
The StoreSense-powered commerce solution will offer Homestead members a full range of e-commerce functionality, beginning with entry-level catalog, shopping cart and real-time transaction processing and extending to high-end inventory management and sophisticated supply chain communication. Homestead members will be able to build customized online catalogs, run special promotions, offer affiliate programs and frequent buyer clubs, cross-sell and up-sell products, perform detailed tracking of business metrics, and more.
"StoreSense is a best-of-breed solution that will enable us to extend Homestead Professional with leading e-commerce capabilities," said Michael Geller, vice president of business development at Homestead Technologies. "We've built our reputation and our extensive member base by delivering products that consistently exceed member expectations for quality, ease-of-use, and technical innovation. Partnering with Kurant will allow us to extend this leadership to include electronic commerce and deliver exceptional value to Homestead members."
"Homestead has been a true Internet trailblazer, proving that there's real value in providing customers with a simple yet powerful means to build an online presence," said Curtis Pierce, CEO of Kurant Corporation. "We're honored to play a part in extending that value to small business. Working together, we believe Kurant and Homestead can change the world for small companies, offering them new ways to conduct business and communicate with their customers."
