New StoreSense 4.0 features multiple technology "firsts"

Kurant Corporation has announced StoreSense 4.0, the next generation of its turnkey e-commerce solution for small- and medium-sized businesses.

StoreSense 4.0 features a number of industry firsts for both the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who host commerce services using StoreSense and their business customers looking to build a powerful on-line presence. For merchants, StoreSense 4.0 features electronic shopping mall functionality and multiple template sets, which provide on-line shoppers a variety of ways to access storefronts beyond traditional HTML, including wireless handheld devices such as PDAs and WAP phones.

StoreSense 4.0 Features

• Electronic shopping mall - provides mall owner with flexible billing and administration capabilities and allows shoppers to search across all mall stores by product, category, manufacturer or store type, and visit multiple stores without re-entering account information

• Wireless support - the first e-commerce solution for small business to support mobile platforms, including Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), allows merchants to provide shoppers with anywhere, anytime access to their stores - a competitive advantage as wireless technology adoption increases

• Multiple template sets - multiple template sets enable StoreSense to detect the shopper's browser and dynamically display the appropriate store content based on the platform of the accessing device (PDAs, WAP phones or the Web)

• Simple store upgrading - a few clicks of the mouse allows ISPs to quickly and seamlessly upgrade business customers from shared to dedicated servers, across server and database platforms, to handle high-volume e-commerce growth

• Clustering capabilities- clustering capabilities ease network administration for ISPs, ensure system up-time and provide fault tolerance for merchant customers

• Intuitive Web Site building tool - StoreSense Site Edition(TM) (SE), an easy-to-use tool for building and managing Web sites, allows merchants to build professional-looking Web sites, and gives ISPs the opportunity to easily migrate merchants from Web site to Web store

• International support - StoreSense 4.0 supports multiple currencies and multiple payment gateways, including CyberCash, CyberSource, VeriSign, SurePay, E-Commerce Exchange and AuthorizeNet.

StoreSense 4.0 enables ISPs to offer their business customers sophisticated e-commerce services. The product offers new management tools that allow ease of administration, including simple store move from shared to dedicated servers and support for clustering, as well as cutting-edge features that will help them attract small business customers sooner and retain them longer, such as entry-level Website-building tools and support for international payment methods and currencies. In addition, StoreSense 4.0 provides unparalleled scalability, manageability and a built-in upgrade path, allowing ISPs to quickly and seamlessly upgrade their customers to additional stores and new functionality as business growth demands.

StoreSense 4.0 is expected to be available in November 2000 through Kurant Corporation and selected resellers throughout the US and internationally. StoreSense 4.0 installation, set-up and the Cobalt RaQ are available at no up-front charge; monthly subscriptions begin at $30 per hosted store, with a minimum monthly requirement of $500 after the first 30 days.
