Great article, I try to implement most of them in my Goo2o store. Submitting a store to search engine is one of the best way of promotion.

I am still having trouble promoting my new website and I have done some Press Releases and working with an SEO Company. I am hoping that it is still too early to see what is going to happen. It has only been two months since launching and I am on Google Pg 5. Hope someone can help me site out.

Thanks for the read!

I've been thinking of promoting a webshop (the company's new webshop I work for) and I thought of a way, but I'm not sure if it was a good idea. I thought that our colleagues could tell (in e-mails) their friends about the webshop. And it would be a good thing to offer a reward to the colleague who has the most friends registrated in the web store. I just don't know how to follow up this, how would I know whose friend is registrated? Did you come accross with anything like this? What do you think about this idea?
This is an IT company with about 100 workors.
Thank you,
Ivory

I liked your article. I agree with link building as an important promotional method. I also think that having the proper analytics program on your website (we use the free Google Analytics package) that can help shape your on-page SEO can be a way to promote your webstore. The reason being, if you are optimized well you will likely be attracting higher quality, more targeted, and often prequalified leads to your website. For businesses that do not have much of a pay per click budget, optimization is a good long run strategy.

Leveraging a social media strategy that is right for your business can also be a powerful way to promote your products and deepend relationships with customers. Which social media is appropriate depends on the individual business and their customer's behaviors.
